Bada Syuta
Henvalvani had a narrowcasting session at Bada Syuta today. I accompanied Ravi for the meeting, Ravi Gosain is a famous Garhwali singer as well as an active member of the radio station. Neelam, the local representative took us to Kamla Pundir’s house , where the women of Bada Syuta had been invited to listen to the radio programme that we carried with us.
The 30 minute programme is superbly scripted, with interviews, information, expert’s advice as well as entertainment.
This intimate setting for narrowcasting radio programme works beautifully, as everyone gets involved in the debate and discussion. Views and opinions of other villagers are shared, building a sense of camaraderie.
A discussion followed and the audience was asked to suggest what they would like to hear in the subsequent programme.

Vibharika is a student of Lady Erwin College, she was visiting Henvalvani for a research project and offered to let us use her laptop to play the radio programme.
