Vir Singh made his riches in the Paneer (cottage cheese) business, his shop the Garhwal Paneer Bhandar in Chandni Chowk, Delhi was very famous for its delicious soft paneer.
Vir Singh used his riches to set up schools for children; he even built the first swimming pool in the area at the school in his village. Deeply in love with his motherland Vir Singh is remembered today as a visionary and  great soul.

The conversation at the Goshthi soon turned to the water crises being faces by several villages as a result of the Henval river drying up. A resolution for a pad yatra emerged and everyone enthusiastically came together to plan a 10 day walk though the villages bordering the river and investigate the reasons for the river’s plight.
